as time flies, we have come to the 20th solar term for the year of 2021 —— minor snow, which is also the second solar term in winter, usually falls on november 22nd or 23rd of the gregorian calendar each year.
however, the name 'minor snow' actually has nothing to do with the physical snow.
it's just a metaphor, aiming to reflect the active cold currents and the increasing precipitation during this solar term. it does not mean that there is a very small amount of snow during this solar term.
for snow in nature is a particular product of winter, the term 'minor snow' was thus applied to indicate the relatively light coldness in the early winter, as well as the light precipitation.
